Overflows, packings and gashes
Several concepts come to enrich the notion of framed
picture and the underlying painting work.
Overflows
come in a straight line from paper, fabric or raw canvas collages on the
painting itself. They are extensions that add extra meaning, extra material,
formless background sometimes, an extension that overflows in space and in time
the limits of this frame of painting.

The
Packing/unpacking/wrapping
are a first step of reflection about our consumer society that packs everything,
uses only the tastiest and wastes the surplus... packaging around my paintings
is a very part of the work, it is not a pollution but an esthetic
re-appropriation of the surplus of our consumer society. Ropes and plastics are
part of the esthetic of the painting.

Gashes
and cuttings are the next step: to pierce or to tear a part of the painting
alters it while revealing what stays behind, adds another dimension to it: depth
in the tear, the look is invited to sink into what the painting is not anymore.
