Abstraction and textures
Detached of the representation, the painting focuses
on the contrast between colors and shape. Use of materials appeared concurrently
with abstraction; both are fully tied to each other.
They provide volume and texture that catch the
light while free forms echo the titles.
Subjects, sometimes violent and sometimes appeased, reflect the political
tensions of this period (Arab spring) or internal tensions (painting style
changing) and my desire to reach an appeased and more classic vision of
painting.
Grey
became one of the major colors of this period ending on the quasi monochrome of
the Canadian autumn.
