Stopover
I call
Escale/Stopover an evocation of a place
often using elements proper to this place. For example
Escale
Bosphore includes a piece of a plastic bag
from Istanbul while on
Ontario Stopover
is pasted a newspaper distributed in Toronto. In addition, the table refers to
the forms proper to the place, the forest for Ontario, the minarets for the
Bosphorus, the insularity for Venice. Other canvases, labeled otherwise, are
added to the themes as long as they evoke both a stage during a journey.
