Musical landscapes

Before coming to abstraction, I had to learn the composition. 2009 paintings, inspired by cubism, implement musical themes: musical notes, violins profiles, piano keyboard, musician shadow or conductors stick... all in flat or false perspective. The horizon which determined last reminiscences of perspectives disappeared.  Color gradient (green, brown and grey) take place of the vivid colors’ oppositions (yellow/blue), the rhythm becomes dominant, and the musical patterns / instruments profiles are a real joy to paint.

Still lifes

Whatever the reason, exhibition themes, commands or exercises, still lifes are demanding themes which require appetite for simplicity.
